 FLORETTA DUKES MCKENZIE ELECTED TO MARRIOTT BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 WASHINGTON, April 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholders of Marriott Corp. (NYSE: MHS), at the company's annual meeting, today elected Floretta Dukes McKenzie to the Marriott board of directors for a two-year term.
 McKenzie is president of The McKenzie Group, a comprehensive educational consulting firm based in Washington. Prior to starting her own firm, she served as superintendent of the District of Columbia Public Schools from 1981 to 1988 and held numerous other positions in education, including deputy assistant secretary, U.S. Department of Education.
 "We are very pleased to have Dr. McKenzie join our board," said J.W. Marriott Jr., chairman and president of Marriott Corp. "With her credentials in education and her experience managing an organization that has served broad public constituencies, she will provide valuable perspective."
 McKenzie is currently a director of Potomac Electric Power Company and The Riggs National Corporation. A graduate of D.C. Teachers College, she holds a master's degree from Howard University and a doctorate from George Washington University.
 Marriott Corporation, based in Washington, D.C., is an international hospitality company with operations in lodging and contract services.
