FLEET FINANCIAL GROUP EXPANDS SPONSORSHIP OF REGIONAL NEWS MAGAZINES PRODUCED BY BROADCAST NEWS NETWORKS

 PROVIDENCE, R.I., April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleet Financial Group's (NYSE: FLT) five New England banks have become 1993 sponsors of Broadcast News/New England, a television news magazine produced and syndicated regionally by Broadcast News Network (BNN).
 The Broadcast News/New England series is BNN's first step in expanding its regional news franchise. The weekly program currently airs across New England on ABC and NBC network affiliates, and addresses issues of interest throughout the region. The show has received critical acclaim since its January 1993 debut. BNN also produces the Emmy Award-winning Broadcast: New York, which has been sponsored by Fleet's New York banks since 1992.
 As part of its relationship with BNN, Fleet is the exclusive sponsor of the monthly "Business Agenda" segment of both Broadcast: New York and Broadcast News/New England programs.
 The half hour Broadcast News/New England program airs on the following stations:
 WBZ Channel 4, Boston, Mass. Saturday - 10 a.m.
 WVIT Channel 30, Hartford, Conn. Sunday - 6 a.m.
 WMTW Channel 8, Portland, Maine Sat ?p.m.
 WGOT Channel 60, Manchester, N.H. Sunday - 6:30 p.m.
 WWLP Channel 22, Springfield, Mass. Sunday - 5:30 p.m.
 WVII Channel 7 Bangor, Maine Sunday - 10 a.m.
 WPRI Channel 12 Providence, R.I. Saturday - 1 a.m.
 WNNE Channel 31 Burlington, Vt. Saturday - 8:30 a.m.
 Broadcast: New York, which has been produced and syndicated since June 1990, is telecast in each of New York's 11 television markets.
