BLAZING DESERT ran a promising race on his second start over hurdles when staying on from off the pace at Sandown. He has some scope and size and should be paying his way before long.

A big run was expected rom RAMBLING MINSTER at Sandown and, though he couldn't make any impression on the principals, he stuck to his task gamely and wasn't beaten that far in fifth. The handicapper has dropped him another pound and he is close to his last winning mark. He remains of great interest when stamina is at a premium.

After looking to be in trouble turning for home, KENTUCKY BOY showed some determination to take third spot at Wetherby. The handicapper hasn't done him any favours by raising him 3lb for that effort, but he can still be placed to advantage this winter.

The one to take out of the Musselburgh race won by Caravel is MARCH MATE who spoiled his chance over the last two flights. But for that, he would have finished closer without troubling the winner and keep an eye on him when the ground is decent, especially when he tackles handicaps.

Quite progressive over hurdles in the past, TEXAS HOLDEM showed a bit more on his second run back from injury at Musselburgh even though he never got into contention behind the runaway winner Viper. There is always a danger that he may not be as good as he was but it's too soon to write him off.
