FIVE SUSPECTS HELD IN ROBBERY.

Five teens have been arrested in a home-invasion robbery in April, when assailants stormed a Canyon Country condominium, beat a youth and made off with $1,800 in property, authorities said Wednesday.

Four 14- to 16-year-olds have been taken into custody over the past few months, and the final arrest, that of Elijah Price, 19, was made Oct. 15 in Sacramento, Los Angeles County sheriff's Detective John Bomben said.

Price was picked up at his mother's home by Sacramento police. Sheriff's deputies in Santa Clarita had determined that Price had made phone calls to Sacramento, and they sent authorities there with a copy of his arrest warrant.

The suspect tried to escape capture by jumping out a window of the home, Bomben said.

He has been charged with residential robbery and burglary and is scheduled to appear in court Monday for a preliminary hearing. He is jailed at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, with bail set at $120,000.

The home-invasion robbery occurred April 9 at the American Beauty Condominiums in Canyon Country. One of the youths acted as a lookout while Price and three others wore stockings or ski masks on their heads and went to a second-story condo of a 19-year-old acquaintance, Bomben said.

The five knocked on the victim's door, then assaulted him when he opened it, Bomben said. He was then taken to a back bedroom and ordered to open a small safe. The robbers tied him up and put him in a closet, Bomben said.

``They had inside knowledge on the place,'' Bomben said. ``They knew the victim through other channels.''

The teens, who left with $1,000 cash and $800 worth of property, met up with a sixth accomplice who apparently received some of the property at a different location, officials said.
