 FIVE LEADING EDA FIRMS TO INTEGRATE ZYCAD'S NEW VHDL ACCELERATORS;
 VIP TRANSPARENT TO PARTNERS' VHDL ENVIRONMENT
 ANAHEIM, Calif., June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Zycad Corp. (NASDAQ: ZCAD) today announced technology partnerships with five leading Electronic Design Automation (EDA) companies that will be the first to offer their VHDL simulation environments integrated with Zycad's new ViP VHDL(A) accelerator products. For the first time, designers will be able to use familiar design systems and take advantage of acceleration technology that works at all levels of VHDL abstraction (behavioral, register-transfer (RT), and structural).
 The ViP is a VHDL hardware simulation accelerator that speeds up the simulation of VHDL designs by 40 to 400 times compared to today's high-end, 70 MIPS workstations. This significant performance improvement shrinks a simulation run from months into hours.
 The five technology partners are Cadence Design Systems Inc., (San Jose, Calif.), DAZIX, an Intergraph Co., (Huntsville, Ala.), Synopsys Inc., (Mountain View, Calif.), Vantage Analysis Systems Inc., (Fremont, Calif.), and Viewlogic Systems Inc., (Marlboro, Mass.). As a technology partner, each will develop a transparent interface so that a user can access the ViP accelerator through their VHDL environment. In addition, the technology partners will be able to re-market the ViP accelerator.
 "Many users have told us that they want behavioral VHDL acceleration," stated Harvey Jones, president and CEO of Synopsys. "Zycad has taken the lead by developing ViP to specifically address this issue. We are very excited with the development effort of linking our VHDL System Simulator(TM) to ViP and providing VHDL acceleration to our customers," Jones added.
 "Behavioral acceleration fills a significant void in today's VHDL simulation technology and maps to our strategy of delivering a production-oriented approach to VHDL-based design," stated Joe Costello, president of Cadence Design Systems Inc. "Cadence views Zycad as the industry leader in acceleration and we are very pleased to be partnered with them in working toward a solution that leverages the strength of our complementary VHDL technology." Availability and Pricing
 Zycad expects beta site testing to begin in the fourth quarter of 1992, with first product shipment in the first quarter of 1993. List price for the ViP hardware starts at $60,000 U.S. for a single board system.
