Project Marks First of 100 Homes in the Corporation's 100

Years/100 Homes Construction Project with Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity, nonprofit ecumenical Christian organization that enables low-income people to own affordable, livable housing. Headquartered in Americus, Ga., it was founded in 1976 by businessman Millard Fuller and his wife.

The project kicks off Andersen's commitment to build 100 homes with Habitat for Humanity over the next five years in honor of the 100th Anniversary of Andersen Corporation. Homes will be built throughout the company's headquarters region and across North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. .

"Supporting the communities where we live and work has been important to Andersen from the beginning. 100 Years/100 Homes is a partnership with Andersen Corporation and the company's family-related foundations to build 100 homes in honor of 100 years in the building industry. The $5-million project is one of the largest cash donations to Habitat for Humanity's "More Than Houses" campaign.

More than 150 Andersen employees, customers, builders, suppliers, distributors and friends of Andersen will contribute thousands of hours during the week to raise the houses. The five homes will be built on a parcel of land on St. Paul's
