FITZGERALD IS SABOTAGED BY JETHAWKS MATES : STOCKTON 6, JETHAWKS 4.

Byline: Scott Magoloff Daily News Staff Writer

Poor fielding and baserunning continue to sabotage otherwise solid performances from the JetHawks' pitchers.

Starter Brian Fitzgerald Brian Fitzgerald (born March 1 1947) is an Irish Independent politician. He was a Labour Party Teachta Dála for Meath from 1992 to 1997.

Previously a trade union official with SIPTU, Fitzgerald was elected to Dáil Éireann for Meath during the swing to Labour in the 1992
, who has been on the receiving end more often than not, was again victimized Sunday as Stockton defeated the JetHawks 6-4 before a crowd of 3,281 at Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

Fitzgerald (1-2) allowed his second hit when Jared Mathis led off the fourth inning with a single and came in to score the Ports' first of two unearned runs in the game.

Seemingly hung out to dry in a rundown after Fitzgerald caught him extending his lead, first baseman Shawn McCorkle's errant throw allowed Mathis into second safely with one out. Mark Cridland drove him in on a double two batters later.

Center fielder Gerald Eady had two errors in the fifth for Lancaster (8-10), contributing to a three-run inning for Stockton (8-9), which led 4-3 after the inning.

Fitzgerald hung a couple of pitches in the sixth inning, when Nick Caiazzo and Jeff Deardorff hit back-to-back homers to extend the Ports' lead to 6-3.

``It seems like the only time that happens is when Fitzgerald pitches,'' manager Darrin Garner said. ``We seem to break down defensively when he pitches. If we make a couple of plays behind him, he might have won.''

Matchup: After an off-day today, Brandon Parker (2-0, 0.00 ERA) will try to extend his 18-2/3-inning scoreless streak Tuesday at San Jose San Jose, city, United States
