FISCHER IMAGING AND ACOUSTIC IMAGING SIGN ULTRASOUND DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT

DENVER, July 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Fischer Imaging Corporation (Nasdaq: FIMG) announced today that it has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Acoustic Imaging Technologies Corporation, a subsidiary of Dornier Medical Systems (Dornier MedTech). Dornier Medical Systems is jointly owned by Singapore Technologies and Daimler-Benz Aerospace.

Under the Agreement, Fischer Imaging will market Acoustic Imaging's Performa(R) Breast Ultrasound System in conjunction with Fischer's Mammotest(R) Stereotactic Core Needle Breast Biopsy System and other x-ray imaging products in the U.S. Radiology Market.

Morgan W. Nields, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fischer Imaging, stated "This agreement leverages our direct sales force with two market leading products, our Mammotest(R) system and the Performa(R) Breast Ultrasound System. The Performa system offers our customers unique value when packaged with our state of the art mammography systems."

Acoustic Imaging will continue to sell the Performa(R) system in stand-alone sales situations through its direct sales force.

Fischer Imaging also supplies Dornier Medical Systems with x-ray imaging systems that are an integral part of the newly FDA-approved Dornier Lithotripter.

Fischer Imaging Corporation designs, manufactures and markets specialty and general purpose x-ray imaging systems for the diagnosis and treatment of disease. The Company's principal product lines are directed toward medical specialties in which minimally invasive techniques are replacing open surgical procedures.
