 FIRST INTERSTATE ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY MEDIA CONTACT CENTER
 FRIDAY, WEEKEND BRANCH CLOSINGS
 LOS ANGELES, May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- First Interstate Bank of California announces that a temporary media contact center has been established to respond to inquiries. The main phone number is 310-375- 8729, or when circuitry is inaccessible, on the cellular number 310-705- 9404. The FAX number is 310-378-0807.
 Only two of the Bank's branches experienced minimal damage. However, to ensure the safety of customers and employees, the following branches will remain closed Friday and over the weekend:
 Los Angeles Area:
 World Center, Wilshire Plaza, Hollywood, Sunset-Alvarado, Wilshire- Lucas, Sunset-Spaulding, Los Angeles Main, 3rd & La Cienega, Olympic & Purdue, 6300 Wilshire, Wilshire-Oxford, Highland-Santa Monica, Wilshire Oakhurst, 18th & La Cienega, Westwood, Chinatown, Panorama City.
 Southern Area:
 Florence & Central, Crenshaw Imperial, Inglewood Main, 9th and San Julian, Market & Produce, Adams & Broadway, Vernon, Bell, Atlantic & Whittier, Whittier & Indiana, Lincoln Heights, El Sereno, Downey, Norwalk, Bellflower, Carson, Wilmington, San Pedro, Gardena Industrial, Gardena Main, Bixby Knolls, Signal Hill, Cerritos.
 Essential bank functions remain operational. However, all non- essential bank employees at the 707 Wilshire Building and the World Trade Center building in downtown Los Angeles were instructed to remain at home Friday.
