FIRST COMPREHENSIVE POLLUTION LIABILITY INSURANCE ANNOUNCED; POLICY IS KEY IN LIMITING RISK OF AMERICAN BUSINESS

EXTON, Pa., March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The first pollution liability policy which combines the features of on-site clean-up and off-site bodily injury and property damage coverages is now available exclusively through ECS Underwriting, Inc.
The new Pollution and Remediation Legal Liability (PARLL) program offers full clean-up coverage for contaminated property as well as off- site, third party bodily injury and property damage coverage, all under a single policy. This form broadens the pollution clean-up coverage offered by other insurance carriers in the marketplace.
ECS Underwriting can provide coverage under the new PARLL policy to a maximum term up to three years. The current limits available are $15 million per occurrence/$30 million policy aggregate. A minimum annual premium of $10,000 applies, subject to a minimum self-insured retention of $25,000. The coverage is subject to ECS Underwriting's usual underwriting criteria, and a risk assessment is required in most cases. The program is available for such risks as banks and financial institutions, commercial and industrial properties, light industry and manufacturing, warehousing and many others.
"This policy is the most comprehensive pollution coverage in the marketplace today, going beyond the current first or third party policies being offered," stated Mark Vuono, senior vice president. "This broad policy will be of extreme benefit to most companies who are looking to insure their various environmental exposures under one policy."
ECS Underwriting, Inc. is a subsidiary of ECS, Inc., based in Exton, Pa. ECS Underwriting is a worldwide provider of insurance services, combining underwriting, administrative, claims handling and loss control skills. ECS Underwriting primarily functions as a Managing General Agency for Reliance National and is responsible for underwriting and administering a program of insurance for companies facing an environmental exposure. The new PARLL policy is presently not available in all states.
