 FIRST 1992 MAALOX MOMENT(TM) AWARD GOES TO FIRST LADY;
 BARBARA BUSH 'RISES TO THE OCCASION' IN JAPAN
 PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- When you're the first lady of the United States, you have to be prepared for surprises and stressful situations.
 During the recent trip to Japan, Barbara Bush displayed that she is more than capable of handling her job with confidence.
 Like many Americans, President George Bush was suffering from the flu. During a formal dinner with Japanese officials, the president became sick to his stomach and collapsed. Immediately, Mrs. Bush was at his side and quickly covered the president's plate with a napkin to avoid any embarrassment for the other guests and media. Later that evening, Mrs. Bush addressed the media with her usual charm and humor; she successfully managed to diffuse the stress of an uncomfortable situation.
 "Mrs. Bush survived what we call a classic Maalox(R) Moment," said Patricia Wojdyla, vice president of marketing for Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. "A Maalox Moment happens when the challenges, pressures and unpredictabilities of 'taking life on' play havoc with your stomach. The world was watching, and our first lady displayed 'grace under pressure.' She deserves to be recognized for her efforts."
 As part of her award, Mrs. Bush will receive a case of Extra Strength Maalox Plus to help her manage acid indigestion or upset stomachs that may accompany stressful situations in the future. The first lady will also receive a "Maalox Moment Survival Kit" to help her survive those long days ahead on the campaign trail.
 The Maalox Moment Award will be presented on a regular basis to individuals who successfully manage a stressful situation that has occurred in any aspect of their daily lives. Recipients are selected by Rhone-Poulenc Rorer, the makers of Maalox products.
