FIRE DESTROYS HOME.

PALMDALE -- A fire broke out Friday in a two-story house in the 36900 block of Serendipity serendipity

The house was destroyed, and damage was estimated at $300,000, including $100,000 for the contents.

The blaze started shortly before 4 p.m. and firefighters were ordered not to go into the building because of the size of the fire.

``They've gone defensive, which means no one is to go inside with hose lines due to the magnitude of the fire and structural compromise,'' Inspector Ron Haralson said.
