FIRE DESTROYS HOME DAMAGED IN QUAKE ORIGIN OF LATE-NIGHT BLAZE UNDER INVESTIGATION.

NEWHALL - An abandoned home in the Placerita Canyon area that had been deemed uninhabitable since the 1994 Northridge Earthquake The Northridge earthquake occurred on January 17, 1994 at 4:31 AM Pacific Standard Time in the city of Los Angeles, California. The earthquake had a "strong" moment magnitude of 6.  caught fire late Monday, causing at least $100,000 in damage, authorities said.

Los Angeles County Fire Station 73 in Newhall received a call minutes before midnight of a home engulfed in flames in the 24000 block of Quigley Canyon Road, near The Master's College.

``It doesn't look like anybody was inside, and there were no injuries reported,'' said Inspector John Mancha of the Los Angeles County Fire Department Not to be confused with Los Angeles Fire Department.

Authorities did not release any information about the contents of the home or who last owned or rented the single-family house.
