FINAL CHANCE TO SHINE HIGH SCHOOL STARS TO COMPETE IN CHARITY EVENT.

Byline: Gerry Gittelson Staff Writer

The top players from local high school basketball teams will participate in the annual Battle of the Valley boys' and girls' all-star games beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday at Cal State Northridge.

For Hart's Adam Rich Adam Rich (born on October 12 1968) is an American actor born in Brooklyn, New York City. He is arguably best remembered for playing youngest son Nicholas Bradford on the 1970s television drama Eight is Enough , Brandon McQueen and Brit Brown, Canyon's Jess Guidroz and Rachel Bates Bates   , Katherine Lee 1859-1929.

doesn't work out - Smith is headed to Cal State Fullerton on scholarship, while several others plan to walk on at various colleges - this showcase could be their final chance to shine as basketball stars.

Perhaps more important, the event raises money for the Valley Sports Foundation, so the players have an opportunity to help youngsters behind them.

``It's definitely an honor to do something like this and maybe help someone else,'' said Rich, who's hoping to walk on at Utah State. ``I'm excited to help out. Plus, this game gives us a chance to show what players from the Santa Clarita Valley The Santa Clarita Valley is the valley of the Santa Clara River in Southern California. ``I'm looking forward to it because it's sort of like the last thing I'm ever going to do in high school,'' she said. ``Plus, I feel really good about having a chance to help other people.''

Brown, who plans to walk on at Brigham Young, feels the same way.

``I'm just totally honored. It's really cool and a great opportunity,'' Brown said. ``And it's awesome to raise money for charity. I wouldn't want the money to go anywhere else. That's great.''

Tickets covering both games are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12-and-under.
