FINAL `BEACH PARTY NIGHT' SAMPLE FOOD, BREWS AT TASTE OF BURBANK.

 to lemon-lime ice cream will be participating in Thursday's A Taste of Downtown Burbank to benefit the YMCA's scholarship fund.

The event is in its sixth year but is bigger than it was in the past, with at least 23 eateries signed on, compared with eight last year. And while last year's walking gourmets went into the restaurants to sample their food, those partaking of samples this year will be visiting booths on the street.

The annual event will coincide with the final Thursday in the city's ``Beach Party Nights,'' a series of free outdoor concerts. Performing in the AMC (Advanced Mezzanine Card) See AdvancedTCA.  Plaza near the food booths will be Captain Cardiac and the Coronaries and the doo-wop group the Alley Cats.

Tickets for ``A Taste of Burbank'' are $25 to sample the food, and $35 to also be allowed in the beer garden and sample drinks there.

Pasta Pomodoro is an Italian food typically prepared with angel hair pasta, olive oil, fresh tomatoes, basil, and other fresh ingredients that may vary. It is intended to be a quick light dish, rather than a dish in a heavy sauce.

Other participants include California Pizza Kitchen California Pizza Kitchen (NASDAQ: CPKI, known within the food industry as CPK) is a casual dining restaurant chain that specializes in California-style pizza. The restaurant was started in 1985 by attorneys Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax in Beverly Hills, California, , Romano's Macaroni Grill Macaroni Grill (also known as Romano's Macaroni Grill) is a chain of Italian food casual dining restaurants in the US and Canada. The chain and brand name is owned by Brinker International. , Gordon Biersch, Ben & Jerry's and the Burbank Bar and Grill. Ben & Jerry's will offer lemon-lime ice cream, and the Burbank Bar and Grill will have jambalaya.

The Burbank Community YMCA raised more than $3,000 from last year's event. Some of that goes for scholarships for the children who attend the center's day care program.

Organizers expect 500 to 800 people to attend this year's event.
