The Scots superstar's Minsk accent could do with work, but his charisma is undeniable, and the set pieces are spectacularly well-handled by John McTiernan, the man who gave us Die Hard. He lives in the rolling sunbleached hills of California with his dog, fixes cars for a living and has a vegetable patch to keep him happy. Then, on his 37th birthday, a bright light knocks him flat and he is turned into a genius, capable of seemingly inhuman telekinetic abilities. An lonely and anonymous surveillance expert is employed to track down a suspected blackmailer, but soon becomes obsessed with his beautiful target.
