FILM FEST FRENZY.Anyone who could even consider going to one more party by the end of the Sarasota Film Festival deserves some kind of award--and probably by next year, the festival people will come up with one. The week was a whirl of tribute luncheons, dinners and other parties, all of them glowing with Hollywood stars and starstruck star·struck or star-struck adj. Fascinated by or exhibiting a fascination with fame or famous people: "The star-struck tone of the text suggests that the author is giving us an exclusive peek into the secret lives of locals. Among the luminaries: Brooke Shields Brooke Christa Camille Shields[1] (born May 31, 1965) is an American actress and supermodel. Biography Career Shields' career as a model began in the late 1960s as an infant, and she continued as a successful child model throughout the 1970s. , Jon Voight Jon Vincent Voight (born December 29 1938) is an Academy Award-winning American actor. Voight, an Oscar-winner and four-time nominee, has had a long and distinguished career as both a leading man and, in recent years, character actor, with an extensive range. , Gena Rowlands, Bryan Cranston ("Malcolm in the Middle'), REM's Michael Stipe, Stephen Dorff and director Ismail Merchant and some of the cast of his Cotton Mary, one of several dozen films screened during the festival. The visitors got chilly weather, but the warmth of their reception (and a certain amount of hot air in some of the toasts) made up for it. Among the week's highlights: at the tribute dinner at MOE Moe continually exasperated at Larry and Curly for their mischievous pranks.
