FILM FEST BRINGS PARIS TO L.A.

Guess that makes it officially venerable. For anyone who cares about cinema, COLCOA has always been invaluable, presenting as it does a wide survey of recent work from what is arguably the most distinguished filmmaking country on the planet.

For six days at the Directors Guild theaters, 18 recent features and the same number of shorts will unspool.

Works range from light comedies such as "The Valet" (Thursday, 7:45 p.m.) by that master of such things, Francis Veber, and the popular "Orchestra Seats" (Wednesday, 6:30 p.m.) to film noir film noir

Many filmmakers are expected to attend the festival and there will be free screenings of the Audience Choice feature film winner and all 18 shorts next Sunday afternoon, April 9.
