The $35 million AMC megaplex dwarfed its 15-year-old counterpart across the newly paved paseo on Palm Avenue.

When the screens officially open to the public Friday, moviegoers can expect to view films on one of 16 new screens, featuring 4,200 stadium seats, chairs with ``articulating'' backs, an extra six inches of leg room and armrests that lift up.
