The Independent Film Project/West is screening ``Eight Lanes in Hamilton'' Thursday at the Writers Guild of America The Writers Guild of America is a term often referring to the joint efforts of the Writers Guild of America, East and the Writers Guild of America, west. ``Eight Lanes in Hamilton'' has a like-father-like-son story line that picks up when a father who deserted his family returns after eight years. The father awakens his boy's talent for manipulating other people, and together they embark on a path where anyone who gets in their way is bound to get run over.

The film, directed by Aslam Amlani and written by Ken O'Donnell, has a running time of one hour, 30 minutes.

The IPF/West also has scheduled a digital filmmaking series led by Marc Leidy, a designer at Digital Domain and an AFI graduate, for Feb. 23. Price is $20 for members, $35 general.
