FIBRONICS ANNOUNCES EXPECTED FOURTH QUARTER RESULTS

FIBRONICS ANNOUNCES EXPECTED FOURTH QUARTER RESULTS
HYANNIS, Mass., March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Fibronics International

Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: FBRX) today announced that it expects to report a loss for the fourth quarter of 1991 of approximately $1.5 million. The company's revenues increased over the revenues of the third quarter of 1991 and reached approximately $16 million. The audited results for 1991 will be available in the next few days.
The gross margin for the quarter was lower than previous periods in 1991. The decline in gross margin resulted from pricing pressures exerted by the continuing decline worldwide in economic activity and high costs associated with the introduction and support of its high-end products. The company's inventory values have been reviewed and adjusted to reflect the introduction of its new products. In addition, the company's revenues for the fourth quarter included greater amounts of low-margin products than in earlier periods.
Management is placing increased emphasis on the company's product development and manufacturing processes to reduce the cost of introducing and supporting new products. Marketing and sales productivity and efficiency improvements are targeted by management throughout 1992. Management has and will continue to implement more comprehensive inventory management to reduce inventory on hand, improve its turnover and reduce holding costs.
