FESTIVE WEDDING WILL REKINDLE RENAISSANCE.

Byline: Paul O'Donoghue Daily News Staff Writer

The traditions of old Europe will be evident at Tierra Rejada Ranch today when 300 guests will revel at a Renaissance-style wedding, dressed in the capes, boots, flowing skirts and feathered hats that marked the period.

A court jester carried in a rickshaw-type carriage will start off the celebrations that will include food and music of the Renaissance era that marked Europe's emergence from the darkness of medieval times and produced some of its finest artists.

Bride Tyme Jasso, 22, and bridegroom Kenny Luper, 29, who met as actors on the set of the Paramount Pictures movie ``Walkabout walkabout

,'' chose the Renaissance theme because of its symbolism.

``It's like a rebirth, where our guests can celebrate our union,'' said Jasso, whose family lives in Moorpark. ``We didn't want our guests to be just spectators; we wanted them to participate. We chose the Renaissance period because it was a time of fruitfulness and blooming and abundance. We wanted to kind of replicate that.''

Tyme's mother, Lori Jasso, modified the white wedding dress to evoke Renaissance fashion. The body is made of white Italian matte satin with dark gold trim, a scalloped scal·lop   also scol·lop or es·cal·lop

Jasso also will wear a corset corset, article of dress designed to support or modify the figure. Greek and Roman women sometimes wrapped broad bands about the body. In the Middle Ages a short, close-fitting, laced outer bodice or waist was worn. By the 16th cent.  that laces up the back.

Groom and groomsmen will wear knickers, flowing shirts and capes, and carry swords.

Bridesmaids will drop rose petals as the wedding party makes its way through an arch formed by guests holding feathers aloft, to where the Rev. Dave Wilkinson of Moorpark Presbyterian Church will conduct the 3:30 p.m. ceremony.

Afterward, guests seated on hay bales instead of chairs will feast on turkeys, hams, grapes and ``all sorts of breads and vegetables'' in baskets, Lori Jasso said.

The soon-to-be-newlyweds work as youth pastors - Jasso at Moorpark Presbyterian Church and Luper at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Camarillo.

The bride's parents said they were looking forward to the day.

Lori Jasso will wear a green velvet dress with gold trim. Tyme's father, business consultant Roy Jasso, will be dressed like a musketeer and said with a laugh that he was looking forward to the wedding celebration.

``I'm really excited and happy about it,'' he said.
