FEMA Director David Paulison to Keynote EMS EXPO and Firehouse Las Vegas; Acting Director of FEMA to Address Hurricane Katrina Response and Disaster Preparedness.

Paulison served previously as administrator for the U.S. Fire Administration. He has served in the field for more than 30 years as a certified paramedic. He is the former chief of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Department, one of the largest metropolitan areas on the east coast and oversaw the Miami-Dade Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. He was directly involved in search, rescue and emergency response for Hurricane Andrew and ValuJet Flight 592 which crashed into the Everglades in 1996.

Following the keynote, Kenneth Bouvier, outgoing NAEMT president and New Orleans paramedic, will look at New Orleans' EMS one year after Hurricane Katrina: what happened, where it is now, and plans for the future.
