Ralph W. Babb Jr. (Detroit Chapter) was promoted to President and CEO from CFO of Comerica Inc., a Detroit-based bank, effective Jan. 2002. He'll also become Chairman later that year.

Harold R. Beattie Jr. (Dallas Chapter) was promoted to VP and CFO of Elcor Corp., a Dallas-based maker of roofing and industrial products.

Alan M. Bennett (Connecticut/Westchester Chapter) was promoted to SVP and CFO of Aetna Inc., Hartford, Conn.-based provider of health care and related group benefits for health care, dental and insurance customers.

Charles E. Brown was named EVP and CFO of Office Depot Inc., Delray Beach, Fla., an office-supply retailer.

Colin Cohen (Virginia Chapter) was appointed CFO of alterna[TM] Technologies Group Inc., a global provider of e-finance solutions based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Michael El-Hillow was named SVP of finance and administration and CFO of Advanced Energy Industries Inc., Fort Collins, Colo., a maker of semiconductors.

Dona Fisher was hired as VP and CFO of Binney & Smith, Easton, Pa., the maker of Crayola products.

Will Franklin was promoted to EVP and CFO of Ptek Holdings, Atlanta, a provider of communications and data services.

Charles Gallagher was hired as CFO of Viewpointe Archive Services, Charlotte, NC., a company that provides digital check and document image archiving and retrieval services.

Mark Hasson was hired as VPF of The Hearst Corp., New York, a diversified communications company.

Christopher P. Johns, Controller of PG&G Corp., San Francisco, was named to the additional post of SVP of this diversified energy-services company.

William J. Krysiak was named CFO of Western Gas Resources Inc., Denver, a natural gas company.

Donald J. Schaffer (Chicago Chapter) was named SVP and CFO of LeasePlan USA, an Alpharetta, Ga.-based vehicle management company that leases and manages fleets of cars and trucks to corporations throughout the U.S.

Richard Tennant (District of Columbia Chapter) was named CFO of Ibasis Inc., Burlington, Mass., a supplier of Internet telephone services.

L. Theodore Van Erden was appointed EVP and CFO of Interdent Inc., El Segundo, Calif., a dental-management services provider.

David P. Warren was appointed CFO of the Nasdaq Stock Market, New York, as the firm prepares for an initial public offering of its own stock as early as next year.
