The judge said they couldn't. I informed them they could not (sell it), and they haven't sold it since then,'' defense attorney Alison Bloom said. Granicy, Manning and Ramona Beck, three sisters, were sentenced in July 2001 after being convicted of breaking a 1999 state law that requires sellers of crystalized iodine to get customers' names, addresses and license-plate numbers. The three women were placed on probation and fined. They are appealing the conviction. The women had faced up to six months in jail for each misdemeanor count they were convicted of. Prosecutors at the time of sentencing did not seek jail time. |
