FEDERAL-MOGUL NAMES VICE PRESIDENT - GLOBAL SOURCING

SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- Dennis J. Gormley, chairman and chief executive officer of Federal-Mogul Corporation (NYSE: FMO), today announced the appointment of Charles J. Fischer as vice president - Global Sourcing. In his new position, Fischer is responsible for the company's growing global sourcing activity in the automotive aftermarket.
Fischer joins Federal-Mogul from Hi~Lo Automotive L.P. in Houston, where he was senior vice president - Merchandising. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president - Purchasing and Management Information Systems. Fischer began his career in the replacement parts business more than 20 years ago at a family-owned parts store which was later acquired by Hi~Lo. He rapidly moved up that organization and helped direct the company's growth from $80 million to $185 million in annual sales.
"With the recent acquisition of TRW's automotive aftermarket business, Federal-Mogul will now be purchasing almost one-third of its total sales dollars from outside sources," Gormley said. "Mr. Fischer's extensive experience in this area will help us realize maximum value from our investment."
Headquartered in Southfield, Federal-Mogul is a global distributor and manufacturer of a broad range of precision parts primarily for automobiles, light trucks, heavy trucks, and farm and construction vehicles. It operates 34 plants, more than 70 distribution centers and four major research centers around the world.
