FEATURE/VisionTek first to introduce EDO upgrade modules for new HP VL4 Pentium systems.


one of the nation's leading memory manufacturers, announces the release of the first EDO Edo: see Tokyo, Japan.  (Extended Data Output) memory upgrades for the new HP Vectra VL4 Pentium series computers.

VisionTek is the first company to produce the EDO upgrade modules for the newest Vectra. "Demand for these modules is currently strong," said Mike O'Leary, product manager at VisionTek. "As the VL4's popularity grows, we expect to see even stronger demand."

The EDO modules are available in pairs of 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, or 32MB for upgrades of 8 to 64 megabytes. The HP VL4 comes with 8 or 16MB of removable memory, and with EDO modules can increase to as much as 128 MB of memory. The EDO modules are installed in pairs, and like all VisionTek memory products, are 100 percent tested and come with a lifetime warranty. VisionTek designs and manufactures memory upgrades for virtually every computer and printer available. "The whole process, from design to release, takes about two weeks," O'Leary noted. "That means we can get upgrades into the market very quickly after a new machine is introduced."
