In a spectacular dawn launch, AMIG's "Al Wafaa Balloon", so named as a special tribute to the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh sheikh or shaykh Among Arabic-speaking tribes, especially Bedouin, the male head of the family, as well as of each successively larger social unit making up the tribal structure. The sheikh is generally assisted by an informal tribal council of male elders. Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was one of 329 balloons to take part in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta's record breaking event. This is the first time that a UAE balloon has participated in the Balloon Fiesta and "Al Wafaa Balloon" is the only participant from the Middle East this year. The participation of "Al Wafaa Balloon" in the event is a symbolic gesture of loyalty and gratitude from all the nationals and the residents of the UAE to His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan for his generosity, dedication and achievements both nationally and internationally. His Highness is particularly involved in charitable works throughout the Islamic world. The balloon will also participate in the "Word of Gratitude" event being held in the UAE later this year. "Al Wafaa Balloon" is built in the shape of the UAE's first fort. This traditional and historic design is also the logo of Al Manhal International Group. The balloon features two pictures of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan with words of gratitude to His Highness in both Arabic and English. The balloon is a 77000 cubic feet custom-made hot air balloon. It is approximately 20 meters high and 17 meters in diameter. AMIG's balloon team are Pilot Tariq Al Omari, the first balloon pilot in the Arab world, Mr. Abdul Aziz Bin Suqat, the crew chief and Mr Asim Al Omari.
