aMAIZEing farm events, LLC (www.afe-llc.com) plans to kick off its annual Harvest Fest by opening its cornfield maze to the public on Saturday, August 31. In addition to challenging visitors' navigational skills in an intricately designed cornfield maze, aMAIZEing farms offers a real country facility with entertaining activities for visitors such as: scenic hayrides to pumpkin patches, miniature farm animals, goat walk, hay bale art, kiddy land, and other exciting fun.

aMAIZEing farms is located just North of Erie and is managed by cousins and business partners Jim Anderson and Peggy Shupe. A portion of the proceeds from the grand opening event this Labor Day weekend will go to Urban Peak Housing Corporation, who provides transitional housing and support for homeless and runaway youth. In its entirety, the elaborate cornfield maze has a total of 5.5 miles of trail on over 30 acres. The maze is actually three separate mazes in one featuring an elk, a buck, an eagle and a large ribbon. "This year's maze is a tribute maze," explains Shupe. "The eagle for our nation, the elk and the buck for Colorado and the ribbon for those lost, but not forgotten, in Washington D.C., New York and Pennsylvania."

aMAIZEing farm events at Anderson Farms will be open August 31 through Halloween. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children. The farm is located 2 1/2 miles west of I-25 off Highway 52 on Weld County Road 3 1/4 (WCR 3 1/4).
