FCF Schmidt Public Relations Announces New Partner; Former Employee Kate Shields Re-Joins Thriving Plymouth Meeting Firm.

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. -- FCF Schmidt Public Relations, one of the top 15 PR agencies in the tri-state area, today announced that former employee Kate Shields has re-joined the agency as Vice President and Partner.

Shields, who worked at the agency as an account manager from 1998-2000, joins FCF Schmidt from ARAMARK Corporation, where she spearheaded public relations efforts for the company's Sports & Entertainment division. Previously, Shields served as brand communications manager for Campbell Soup Company, where she led national consumer public relations programs for the organization's soup, sauce and beverage brands, such as Chunky soup, Pace salsa and V8 beverages.

As Vice President of FCF Schmidt PR, Shields will provide strategic planning input and account supervision for all clients, while focusing on the agency's new business development initiatives.

"We continue to make a steadfast commitment to our clients that an agency principal will work daily on every account," said Maribeth Roman Schmidt, President, FCF Schmidt PR. "With the terrific growth we've enjoyed in the last few years, we needed to bring in another partner to uphold that promise. I couldn't be happier that Kate was ready to tap into her entrepreneurial spirit when we needed a passionate, driven and strategic thinker to join our team."

Shields, 30, is a graduate of the University of Scranton and earned her master's degree from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She currently serves on the boards of the Mount Saint Joseph Academy Alumnae Association and the La Salle University Communication Department, where she is an adjunct faculty member. A native of the Roxborough section of Philadelphia, Shields currently resides in Manayunk.

FCF Schmidt Public Relations and its sister company, Fleming & Van Metre Advertising, are headquartered in the Plymouth Meeting Executive Campus, Plymouth Meeting, PA. With combined annual billings of $25 million, the agencies represent regional and national accounts including: BASF; Bright-Star Lighting Products; Marriott International, Inc.; Montgomery Hospital Medical Center; Philadelphia Gear Corporation; Professional Pest Management Alliance; and Unique Industries. FCF Schmidt PR has earned more than 40 awards from the Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for its work on behalf of dozens of clients, including the 2004 Best in Show award, and was ranked #14 in Philadelphia Business Journal's 2004/5 Best Places to Work Survey.
