FBI chief lambasts MacAskill.THE director of the FBI last night launched a blistering attack on justice secretary Kenny MacAskill Kenny MacAskill (born 28 April 1958) is an Scottish National Party politician, the Cabinet Secretary for Justice and Member of the Scottish Parliament for Edinburgh East and Musselburgh since 2007. . In a letter sent to MacAskill, Robert Mueller claimed the release of the Lockerbie bomber made "a mockery of justice". Mueller, who led the investigation into the 1988 bombing, also accused the justice secretary of failing to consult the FBI. He told MacAskill: "Your action in releasing Megrahi is as inexplicable in·ex·pli·ca·ble adj. Difficult or impossible to explain or account for. in·ex  pli·ca·bil as it is detrimental to the cause of justice."
He said the release gave "comfort to terrorists". Mueller added: "Your action rewards a terrorist even though he never admitted to his role in this act of mass murder and even though neither he nor the government of Libya ever disclosed the names and roles of others who were responsible."
