FBI arrests nine people, including four from Eugene, during interstate drug running sting.

The FBI on Tuesday arrested nine people, four of whom are from Eugene, as part of a federal investigation into drug trafficking between Oregon and California.

Oregon State Police troopers seized more than 80 marijuana plants from Eugene residences in the raids.

Oregon State Police troopers and Multnomah County sheriff's officers made eight arrests in Tuesday's raid: Eugene Pomlee Miller, 27; Emily Louise Silvestri, 25; Demarcos Wright, 28; and Barry Lloyd Barry David Lloyd (born 19 February 1949 in Uxbridge) is an English former football player and manager. He is best remembered for his time as Brighton manager between January 1987 and December 1993.  Williams, 28, all of Eugene; Krystle Alwana Harris, 25, and Michael Darnell Thomas, 36, both of Portland; and Jeuan Jarrard Marks, 32, and Lindsay Anne Schumacher, 31, both of the Portland suburb of Milwaukie.

Eric Dushon Lewis, 38, of Compton, Calif., was arrested in Palmdale, Calif.

Other fugitives include Kenyan Terrance Payne, 39, of Compton; and Joseph Cornelius McDonald of Portland.

The FBI said the accused are alleged members and associates of the Campanella Park Piru Bloods and Westside Piru Bloods street gangs, based in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. , and the Gangster Disciples The Gangster Disciples are a largely African-American, Chicago-based street gang.

 street gang in Portland.

The defendants were allegedly buying cocaine in Compton and transporting it to Portland to sell, according to the FBI. Officials also allege that marijuana grown in Oregon was being transported to Los Angeles for distribution.

Thursday's arrests represent the second phase of Operation Crimson Vex.

While working on the case, the FBI and Drug Enforcement Agency agents have seized more than $1 million in assets, along with about 13 pounds of cocaine, a half pound of crack-cocaine, 80 pounds of marijuana, eight guns and $860,000 in cash.

The defendants will have their initial court appearance in U.S. District Court in Eugene or Portland, according to an FBI release.
