FBI SEEKS CLUES LEADING TO ARREST OF BANK ROBBER.

WESTLAKE VILLAGE - The FBI is seeking the public's help in apprehending a tattooed robber who got away with an undetermined amount of cash during a stick-up Monday at Downey Savings & Loan.

The man walked into the bank at 5705 Lindero Canyon Road about 3:20 p.m., stood in line, then handed the teller a note reading, ``This is a robbery. No bait or dye pack A dye pack is a device used by banks to foil bank robbers non-violently.

Banks put dye packs in money given up during robberies. The dye pack is an incendiary device that explodes in a shower of colored ink, and sometimes tear gas, intended to permanently stain the stolen

The teller ``just started scooping the money,'' Robbins said. ``He just exited on foot and wasn't further seen. This guy is calm, cool and collected. He probably has robbed banks previously."

His most distinctive feature is a green and black tattoo that extends from his left inside bicep to his forearm. It has what authorities described as a ``jagged edge symbol, kind of like the sun rays.''
