FAULTY WIRE HOME-GARAGE FIRE SPREADS NEXT DOOR.Byline: Greg Botonis Staff Writer LANCASTER - Two homes were damaged early Thursday by a fire believed caused by faulty fault·y adj. fault·i·er, fault·i·est 1. While there were no injuries, total damage was estimated at $160,000. Flames all but destroyed the garage of one of the homes in the 1050 block of West Avenue J-14 and damaged the garage next door. ``There was a lot of smoke, but the flames weren't really bad at first,'' neighbor Kelly Atife said. ``Then it just, like, lit up.'' The fire broke out about 2:30 a.m. in the first home and quickly consumed the garage and its contents, including a parked car. As it spread to the living area, wind gusts shot flames next door, igniting the neighbor's garage. That roof caught fire and caused some interior damage, but officials said the damage was not extensive.
