FATS, Inc. Announces Contract Award to Support U.S. Marine Corps.

SUWANEE, Ga.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2001

Firearms Training Systems, Inc. (OTC: FATS) announced today that the U.S. Marine Corps recently awarded the Company a contract with a total approximate value of $3.5 million. The contract provides for 100 additional Indoor Simulated Marksmanship Trainers - Enhanced (ISMT-E) and training.

Delivery of the additional systems will follow the delivery of the initial 97 ISMT-Es purchased in the base-year option of Marine Corps Contract M67854-00-C-3005, awarded to FATS in October 2000. In addition to enhanced marksmanship training, each system has the embedded capability to conduct squad tactical training, judgmental, shoot/no shoot, and indirect fire training from closed loop mortar to sophisticated fire support planning, including field artillery, naval gun fire, CAS, and attack helicopter. Each system operates in a high-level architectural environment, which presents significant training opportunities for the Corps.
