On Saturday, Villaraigosa will be giving away his daughter Prisila Villar, 27, in marriage to Frank Contreras, 29, in the garden at the historic Getty House The Getty House is the official residence of the Mayor of Los Angeles, California, USA. Although the couple attended the same high school in Temple City (he was two years ahead of her), they didn't know each other then, meeting a decade ago, the summer after Villar's high school graduation. The wedding ceremony at the Getty House is the first family event there for the mayor, who plans to move into the 19-room residence as soon as refurbishing work is completed. (Villaraigosa's predecessors - Richard Riordan and James K. Hahn - had chosen not to live in the house.) The bride will wear a full-length off-white dress designed and custom-made by Palazzo, a Chicago-based company. Made of double-sided silk satin, the sleeveless gown features a cowl neck, very low-cut back and a ruffle train. According to Saeed Hamidi, Palazzo's co-owner, ``It's a glamorous old Hollywood, Jean Harlow look. It's very sensuous, feminine and sexy.'' After the late afternoon vows, the bride's family, including her mother, Andrea, and 125 invited guests will celebrate the couple's big day with a reception catered by Paul Vicino, co-owner/chef of Five Front and 12th Street Bar & Grill, both in Brooklyn. The bride has been the general manager of the 12th Street Bar & Grill for the past three years. ``She's a good friend and works for me,'' said Vicino, who finds the off-site event a challenge. The bride has been hands- off, he says, and has given him creative freedom with the menu. He flew out Wednesday with his wife, Alicia, also a chef, and his sous-chef, Elia Tapia - and they've been shopping, improvising and cooking ever since. To save time and for convenience, Vicino brought along some of his own kitchen equipment and some special seasonings and food items. The menu will include an eclectic mix of passed hors d'oeuvres along with an array of buffet selections. ``We are doing a little bit of a lot of things, so the appetizers will come out in waves,'' says Vicino. Among the appetizers will be assorted tapas; crostinis topped with tomatoes, zucchini or caponata ca·po·na·ta n. According to Beatriz Porto, owner of the bakery, assorted fancy platters will be filled with mini pastries, among them fruit custard tarts.
