Galpin Ford in North Hills is one of two area dealers to offer a sneak peak at the new Ford Flex.

Galpin's viewing is today and the dealership will showcase its one-of- a-kind customized Ford Flex vehicles designed by Galpin Auto Sports Galpin Auto Sports (or GAS) is an automobile repair shop in Van Nuys, California that specializes in customizing cars specifically for the vehicles owners. They also provide spare parts. .

The event will start at 5 p.m. and will run until 9:30. The unveiling is at 7:30 p.m. The dealership is at 15505 Roscoe Blvd. in North Hills.

Simi Valley Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  Ford will throw a Hawaiian Beach Party from 6:30 to 8:30 Tuesday night to preview the 2009 Ford Flex crossover.

The Flex is a seven-passenger vehicle with distinctive side grooves and a quiet interior. It also features a voice-activated communications and entertainment system.

The party will include entertainment, food and giveaways. Those wanting to attend must R.S.V.P. today by calling Norma Smith at 805-583-0333.

FREE GM FINANCING

General Motors Corp. will offer six years of free financing on most trucks and several cars under a special promotion good through Monday.

The interest-free loans apply to pickup trucks and SUVs across the automaker's eight brands. Even trucks sold by GM's luxury marquees -- Hummer, Saab and Cadillac -- apply. Some cars are included as well, such as the Chevrolet Impala The Chevrolet Impala is a full-sized automobile built for the Chevrolet division by General Motors. MASERATI'S QUATTROPORTE GETS MAKEOVER

Maserati, the Italian luxury automaker, is rolling out a new Quattroporte for the 2009 model year.

The company's flagship machine is also being offered in an S model.

The Quattroporte is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 engine, while the latter adopts the new 4.7-liter 425 Hp V8 recently introduced on the GranTurismo S.

Both cars have the six-speed automatic transmission.

Exterior styling changes include a new front with the traditional Maserati vertical slats, a design cue seen most recently on the Maserati GranTurismo The Maserati GranTurismo is grand tourer produced by Italian automaker Maserati. It was officially presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. The GranTurismo is a two-door 2+2 coupé. Many design elements come from the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, which is also a grand tourer. .

The front and rear light units are also updated, featuring light-emitting diodes.

The under-door molding is defined with a line that runs into that of the new bumpers, which have a wider protective band and more pronounced rear styling.

The car goes on display in July. Pricing will be announced later.

FINAL WORD

J gate transmission shifter: The center console-mounted transmission shifter in the Jaguar. The shifter has the normal pattern down the right side while on the left side the driver can shift manually. There is no clutch.
