It wouldn't be a red carpet without stars dressed in classic black. But it didn't stop there Saturday night outside the Shrine Auditorium, where the classic beauties of Hollywood picked from an eclectic fashion palette. Winter white, ever so popular at the Golden Globes, showed up again at the Screen Actors Guild Award. And there was the combo of black and white. Others jumped the seasons and picked the colors of spring. Here are a few of the outstanding looks.

BEST IN BLACK: Charlize Theron, left, glamorous in any gown, chose black satin that featured beaded back straps. ``Hotel Rwanda's'' leading lady Sophie Okonedo was all glamour in a black corseted bodice gown with a full skirt. ``The Aviator's'' Cate Blanchett wore a strapless strap·less
