FASB goes online.

The Financial Accounting Standards Board has a place on the World Wide Web. The opening graphic--a photo of the board in session--may disappoint those who have found more exciting home pages, even from the federal government. But the FASB FASB - Financial Accounting Standards Board
FASB - Florida Association of School Boards
's site should become a favorite spot for accountants involved in financial accounting.

The table of contents lists FASB general information, announcements of board actions and meetings, a quarterly plan for all FASB projects, press releases, summaries of FASB statements, a casebook on recognition and measurement issues and ordering information for FASB products. Coming soon will be e-mail connections. (For now, exposure drafts will not be available on the site, nor will the FASB accept online comments on EDs.)

The Web site is courtesy of Rutgers University Rutgers University, main campus at New Brunswick, N.J.; land-grant and state supported; coeducational except for Douglass College; chartered 1766 as Queen's College, opened 1771.

Campuses and Facilities

Rutgers maintains three campuses. At the New Brunswick campus are Rutgers College, Douglass College (est.
, which maintains a vast accounting resource on the Web (http://www.rutgers.edu/accounting)

The FASB can be reached either directly at http://www.fasb.org or through Rutgers at http://www.rutgers.edu/accounting/raw/fasb. Both addresses lead to the same site.
