FARGO announces tabloid-size color printer with Adobe PostScript Level 2 technology.


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 1994--Adobe Systems Inc. today announced that FARGO Electronics Inc. has introduced the Pictura 310 Color Printer A printer that prints in color using three (CMY) or four (CMYK) colors of ink, toner or dye. Four color ribbons have been used in dot matrix printers, but these are rare today. The new color printer, available for the Macintosh or Windows platform, prints full-bleed tabloid-size pages. The Pictura 310 with Adobe PostScript software is expected to be available in December.

The Pictura 310 is a 300x300 dots-per-inch resolution printer that prints full-bleeds for a range of paper sizes, and accommodates media up to 12x20 inches. It also prints on other media such as 8.5 x 11 inches on plain laser paper, transparency film, dye-sublimation media and even T-shirt transfer paper. The new printer includes a NuBus interface board for the Macintosh version and a Centronics-type parallel interface for the Windows version.

Suggested retail price for the Pictura 310 is $4,995. Optional Adobe PostScript software is available for $799. The new color printer is available through FARGO's worldwide network of authorized resellers. Interested customers should contact FARGO at 800/327-4622.
