FAMILY, LOVE MATTERED MOST ARNOLD FERNANDEZ TOOK LIFE AS IT CAME, ENJOYED SPORTS.Byline: Holly J. Andres Staff Writer Family togetherness was what mattered most to Arnold ``Arnie'' Fernandez of Reseda, who died Tuesday of cancer at age 77. ``He was a very charming, good-looking, fun person,'' said his niece, Christina Fernandez. ``His passions in life were his family and sports. He was private, warm and honest.'' Fernandez played football at Van Nuys High and, after graduating, played semi-pro football until he was 32. A funeral service was held Saturday at The Church on the Way in Van Nuys. Fernandez was cremated.
