FAMED HART HERO KAPP TO HELP MARK 60TH ANNIVERSARY.

NEWHALL - Fans of former football great Joe Kapp Joseph Robert Kapp (born March 19, 1939[1] in Santa Fe, New Mexico) is a Hispanic former professional American and Canadian football player. Kapp is also a former college football head coach of the University of California, Berkeley, and a former general manager of the  can spend an evening with their hero who is coming home to celebrate the 60th anniversary of his alma mater, Hart High School Hart High School may refer to:

``Joe, like most athletes when they retire, wants to give back to their communities and students,'' said Pete Calzia, Associated Student Body adviser and organizer of the anniversary celebration. ``He's going to talk to the kids about the importance of athletics and staying in school, getting involved in activities.''

Kapp's followers will get to meet their hero at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Vital Express Center at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. , where he will participate in a sports round table about the upcoming high school and College of the Canyons football seasons with various local sports writers and commentators.

At 8 p.m., Kapp will present a motivational talk about the importance of education, sports and community. The talk is free and open to parents, students, the public and alumni.

Calzia is spreading the word to alumni, hoping to get them to the game and enticing them with an Olympic-style procession, organized by classes. After their grand entrance, he's got some interesting games to warm up the crowd.

``We'll sing the alma mater, cut the cake, sing the fight song, release a bunch of balloons and then everyone will cheer Hart to victory over Moorpark,'' Calzia said.
