Under the agreement terms, the three partners aim to establish a genetic testing method to diagnose the risk of colonic adenoma adenoma: see neoplasm. . Based on the results of recent research conducted by the two universities, they will proceed with further research on specific genes found in the colon mucosal cells. The method that can assess those genes will contribute to the diagnosis and preventive management of colonic adenoma. They plan to accept orders for genetic testing from medical institutions nationwide in 2006. In addition, FALCO biosystems retains an exclusive license to the new method in Japan.
