FAIRCHILD SELECTED FOR NASA INSTRUMENT SUPPORT CONTRACT

 GERMANTOWN, Md., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Fairchild Space, a division of Fairchild Space & Defense Corporation, has been selected by NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md., for negotiations leading to the award of a cost-plus-award-fee contract for instrument support services. The estimated value of the contract is $91 million.
 Under the contract, Fairchild, along with its lead subcontractor, Ball Aerospace, will provide instrument support services to the Engineering Directorate at Goddard over a seven-year period. The services will include on- and off-site engineering and technical support for scientific and application flight instruments, feasibility studies, system definition studies, execution phase flight hardware and research and technology unique to instrument development.
 Fairchild Space, located in Germantown, is an innovative, high- technology company which specializes in design, development, manufacture and test of space systems, satellite subsystems and components, and provides technical support services to U.S. government agencies and their prime contractors.
