 FAIR, ISAAC REORGANIZES TO ACCELERATE
 PRODUCT R&D, MARKET RESPONSIVENESS
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., June 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Fair, Isaac and Co. Inc. (NASDAQ: FICI), a leading developer of statistically based business decision systems and software, has instituted a broad reorganization designed to "provide quicker, more focused response to emerging market opportunities," according to company President Larry E. Rosenberger.
"Our goal is to create organizational units encompassing the full spectrum of product line or service responsibilities -- product marketing, product development, process engineering, production or service delivery and product support -- everything but sales. In effect, we're taking the integrated product management approach that's been used to establish and support some of our most successful efforts and applying the same principles more broadly," Rosenberger said.
 Among the changes announced today:
Former Production Division Senior Vice President Rawy Shediac will head the newly created Application Screening Division, with full responsibility for the company's ASAP automated application processing product lines as well as application screening products and tracking services. With the addition of product marketing and development functions, this division is now charged with finding improved ways to help customers screen credit applicants as well as producing and delivering existing products.
Senior Vice President Mary Hopper assumes responsibility for the new Portfolio Products Development Department, charged with conceiving, developing, and inaugurating new products and services for consumer credit portfolios.
Account Management Division Vice President John Perlis will head up the teams responsible for the company's highly successful TRIAD account management systems, as well as Adaptive Control account management services marketed through third party bankcard processors.
Vice President Pat Culhane's expanded Credit Bureau and Solicitation Products Department will assume responsibility for the company's PreScore solicitation screening service, as well as other scoring services offered through the major U.S. credit bureaus.
"We've discovered that innovation and productivity soar when we remove functional boundaries and have employees focused on questions like 'What do our customer need, and what must we do to satisfy those needs,'" Rosenberger said. "We want more of our employees to have control over their own product or service lines and to be responsible for constant innovation and improvement in their areas."
Established in 1956, Fair, Isaac is a pioneer and world leader in the development of statistically based business decision systems. In fiscal 1991, the company earned $2.76 million on revenues of $31.8 million.
