FAIR, ISAAC APPOINTS VETERAN FINANCIAL EXECUTIVE,
BARRY ROACH, TO NEW STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT POST
SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Fair, Isaac and Co. Inc. (NASDAQ: FICI) announced the appointment of former Network Equipment Technologies Chief Financial Officer Barrett B. Roach to the newly created position of executive vice president for Strategic Development.
Roach, 51, will be primarily responsible for "identifying, evaluating and pursuing business opportunities external to the Fair, Isaac's current operations." Fair, Isaac President and Chief Executive Officer Larry E. Rosenberger, to whom Roach will report, said Roach's broader duties would include "helping refine and articulate our overall corporate strategy."
Roach brings to his new post an exceptional depth of experience and record of accomplishment. An honors graduate of both MIT and Stanford University's Graduate School of Business, he joined the international management consulting firm, McKinsey & Co., in 1965, and remained with it as a partner in its San Francisco and Mexico City offices until 1978. Following extended stints as executive vice president of Shaklee Corp. and chief financial officer of Raychem Corp., he joined Network Equipment Technologies in 1986 and served as chief financial officer and a director of the corporation during a period in which NET's annual sales grew from $20 million to $150 million.
In his 20-plus year Bay Area business career, Roach has served on the boards of a number of Bay Area community organizations including the YMCA, the San Francisco Zoo and the San Francisco Ballet. He and his wife Kate and three children currently live in Sonoma, Calif., not far from Glen Ellen's Jewell Vineyards, which the Roaches own and operate.
Established in 1956, Fair, Isaac is a pioneer and recognized world leader in the development of statistically based business decision-making tools and systems. In fiscal 1991, the company earned $2.76 million on revenues of $31.8 million.
