FACT Allows Seamless Deployment of Texas Instruments eXpressDSP Compliant Algorithms; Blue Wave Systems To Launch Its eXpressDSP Compatible Framework at Embedded Systems West.

Blue Wave Systems (NASDAQ/NMS:BWSI) today announced that FACT(TM), Framework Architecture for Communication Technologies, now offers a socket into which eXpressDSP(TM) algorithms can plug-in. FACT, part of Blue Wave's ComStruct line of telecom products, is a deployment-grade framework for interface, management, and control of signal-processing algorithms in communications applications.

Specifically designed to allow customers to easily and rapidly incorporate commercially available or proprietary algorithms into a multiple digital signal processor (DSP) and multiple board installation, FACT now enables customers seamlessly, to incorporate TI eXpressDSP algorithms. FACT includes both host-side and DSP-side elements and basic algorithms (DTMF, tone detectors, simple voice play and record), with a range of advanced algorithms such as G.723.1 and G.729A also available.

Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN) eXpressDSP Real-Time Software Technology is a complete, open DSP software environment designed to enable an expected tenfold increase in DSP applications. This software strategy simplifies and streamlines the DSP product development process and gives OEMs a mechanism to reuse proprietary or commercially available algorithms.
