The partnership between F5 and Double-Take Software allows companies to leverage existing infrastructure to meet the ever-increasing demands on the WAN.

The joint solution of F5's WANJet[TM] (http://www.f5.com/products/WANJet) appliance and Double-Take from Double-Take Software is designed to give organizations the ability to protect and recover business-critical data in less timeCoand without increasing bandwidth. The two companies have completed interoperability and performance testing using real-world data across a live WAN link that demonstrates how F5's WANJet helps optimize the WAN links over which Double-Take performs its data replication processes. This combined solution enables organizations to significantly accelerate data protection and recovery of applications over the WAN. The resulting acceleration of data transmission can help companies meet more strict recovery point and recovery time objectives.

F5's WANJet appliances and Double-Take can protect data from a wide variety of applications including Microsoft[R] Exchange, SQL, SharePoint and Oracle. WANJet uses advanced TCP optimization and compression algorithms to increase the amount of data that can be transmitted over any given connection by up to 20 times. WANJet relies on several levels of Transparent Data Reduction (TDR), a revolutionary networking technology, to ensure high-speed application performance. TDR reduces the amount of data transferred over the WAN by up to 95 percent. In addition, WANJet's intelligent compression and accelerated CIFS capabilities improve performance for file transfers over the WAN.
