F.X. Matt Brewing Co. announces personnel changes.

The F.X. Matt Brewing Company of Utica, NY has announced that Jim Kuhr and Frank Vlossak have become the new co-directors of brewery operations.

The office of brewery operations is a new department within the brewery that has been created in response to the brewery's growth. Prior to the development of this office, general brewery operations including brewing, bottling, shipping and maintenance were operated as individual departments.

According to Nick Matt, president of the F.X. Matt Brewing Company, these changes will result in more efficient operation of the brewery. "We're lucky to have Frank and Jim on our team," he said. "They have a great deal of experience in all aspects of the brewery's operations and we know that they will continue to do a great job by collectively managing these particular functions."

Dave Campbell will continue in his position as plant engineer and will lead many of the brewery's new projects that include improved efficiency and cost savings from an engineering perspective. He will continue to work closely with Frank and Jim, along with members of the maintenance group. According to Nick Matt, they now have the right people in the right position. "Dave, Frank and Jim are highly valued employees and we have every confidence that they will continue to do a great job. We hope that this reorganization, in fact, makes their job easier. "

The realignment of duties will improve internal communication and establish clear responsibility throughout the brewery, especially as the brewery grows. "Our business is always evolving and changing. Owning a brewery is a dynamic process," said Matt. "Whether its new technology, new equipment, or new beers that we're developing, we always try to be flexible and responsive to the needs of our employees and customers."

The Matt Brewing Co. is located in Utica, NY. The brewery was founded in 1888, and is the second-oldest brewery in the U.S. It is now under the leadership of the 3rd and 4th generations of the Matt family.
