SAN JOSE, Calif. -- F-Secure[R] today announced the availability of its next-generation messaging security solutions, F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway appliance. F-Secure Messaging Security Gateway version 4 comes with improved usability, mail queue management and support for more complex email infrastructures.

While the Messaging Security Gateway is available in three different physical hardware configurations, the award-winning hardware appliance is now also available utilizing VMware's virtualization platform. All four versions including the virtual appliance feature the same anti-spam, anti-virus and anti-phishing features as well as an optional zero-hour protection against fast-spreading email viruses.

The new optional Zero-Hour Antivirus Module is an important addition to Gateway appliance to protect enterprises against fast-spreading viruses. During the critical first hours of a new virus outbreak before traditional anti-virus signatures have been updated, the Module offers an effective first line of defense.
